Answer:

12

Step-by-step explanation:

Since it is on a right angle we can equation the sum of both angles to 90:
6x-2+20 = 90

Now we simplify:

6x+18=90

Now we subtract 18 from both sides:

6x+18-18=90-18

Simplify:

6x=72

Now we divide both sides by 6:

6x÷6=72÷6

Simplify:

x = 12

Vikentia [17]

The width of the insect is 0.17 cm and the height of the insect is 0.125 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

The scale factor is given by dividing the measurement after scaling by the same measurement

The given drawing of the insect is larger than the actual insect.

The scale factor is 20: 1 which means 20 cm on the drawing is 1 cm on the actual insect.

Step 2:

To obtain the actual insect's dimensions, we divide the dimensions of the drawing by 20.

The width of the actual insect = \frac{3.4}{20} = 0.17.

The height of the actual insect = \frac{2.5}{20} = 0.125.

The width of the insect is 0.17 cm and the height of the insect is 0.125 cm.

X + 2y =6<br> X- y =3<br> Solution?
VikaD [51]
Since one equation has a negative y and the other has a positive y, I'm going to use those since they cancel each other out. Before that, the two y's need to be equal to each other.

x+2y=6
x-y=3

Multiply the bottom equation by two so then you have:

x+2y=6
2x-2y=6

The y's now cancel out:

x=6
2x=6

Add them together

3x=12

Divide

x=4.

To find y, plug x into either equation (*don't have to do both, but I will)

(4)+2y=6
(4)-y=3

Subtract four

2y=2
-y=-1

Divide each

2y/2 = 2/2
y=1

-y/-1 = -1/-1
y=1

The answer is:
x=4
y=1

I hope that helps!

You have 23 1/2 pounds of blueberries to store in freezer bags. Each bag holds 3 3/4 pounds of blueberries. What is the minimum
monitta

Answer:

The minimum number of freezer bags needed to store all the blueberries is 7

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

To find out the number of freezer bags needed , divide the total pounds of blueberries by 3 3/4, but first convert mixed number to an improper fraction

23\frac{1}{2}\ lb=\frac{23*2+1}{2}=\frac{47}{2}\ lb

3\frac{3}{4}\ lb=\frac{3*4+3}{4}=\frac{15}{4}\ lb

\frac{47}{2}:\frac{15}{4}=\frac{47*4}{2*15} =\frac{94}{15}=6.3\ bags

Round up

7 bags

therefore

The minimum number of freezer bags needed to store all the blueberries is 7

Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

We know that in the box there are:

4 twix

3 kit-kat

Then the total number of candy in the box is:

4 +3 = 7

a)

Here we want to find the probability that we draw two twix.

All the candy has the same probability of being drawn from the box.

So, the probability of getting a twix in the first drawn, is equal to the quotient between the number of twix and the total number of candy in the box, this is:

p = 4/7

Now for the second draw, we do the same, but because we have already drawn one twix before, now the number of twix in the box is 3, and the total number of candy in the box is 6.

this time the probability is:

q = 3/6 = 1/2

The joint probability is the product of the individual probabilities, so here we have

P = p*q = (4/7)*(1/2) =  2/7

b) same reasoning than in the previous case:

For the first bar, the probability is:

p = 3/7

for the second bar, the probability is:

q = 2/6 = 1/3

The joint probability is:

P = p*q = (3/7)*(1/3) = 1/7

c) Suppose that first we draw a twix.

The probability we already know that is:

p = 4/7

Now we want another type, so we need to draw a kit-kat, the probability will be equal to the quotient between the remaining kit-kat bars (3) and the total number of candy in the box (6)

q = 3/6

The joint probability is:

P = p*q = (4/7)*(3/6) = 2/7

But, we also have the case where we first draw a kit-kat and after a twix, so we have a permutation of two, then the probability in this case is:

Probability = 2*P = 2*2/7 = 4/7
