C: Next, you will research and gather three artifacts that help you demonstrate why you would use these terms to describe your i

dentity. An artifact is something made or created by a person and that might have some personal or cultural importance. Artifacts could include pictures, songs, objects, symbols, or anything that means something to you.
D: You can gather artifacts from your personal belongings, online resources, or other sources accessible to you. After gathering three artifacts, write a 50-word paragraph explaining what each artifact is and how it relates to your identity.
Now you will create an outline of the story of your identity based on the artifacts that you have gathered. The outline should introduce and describe your identity using the terms and artifacts. Also, provide a conclusion about what your identity is today. You will use the outline to write your story in Task 2 of this activity.

Your story should follow the following structure:

Introduction: Describe what your identity means to you. List three words you would use to describe your identity.
First supporting detail: Include one term and an artifact to support the term.
Second supporting detail: Include one term and an artifact to support the term.
Third supporting detail: Include one term and an artifact to support the term.
Conclusion: Restate how you would describe your identity. What aspects of your identity have changed since you were young? Which have stayed the same?
Task 2
The Story of Your Identity
Come up with a creative representation of the story of your identity based on the paragraph and outline you created in the first task. Keep in mind there is more than one way to define your identity. Here are some options you can choose from for telling your identity story:

personal narrative
multimedia presentation
As you tell the story of your identity, remember that all stories require the use of descriptive words, phrases, and transitions. Writers use descriptive language to get their point across in a detailed yet concise manner. Transitional words and phrases help writers make a shift between sentences or ideas.

Use the paragraph and outline you created in Task 1 to develop the creative representation of the story of your identity. Your personal narrative or multimedia presentation should include the following elements:

a clear introduction to your identity
the three terms that you would use to describe yourself
the three artifacts that you have chosen
a clear use of descriptive language and transition words and phrases
a conclusion that reviews what your identity is and how you think it has or hasn’t changed over time
You may also include certain specific elements of your identity that are not represented by the three artifacts and terms you chose.

If you choose to write a personal narrative, then type it in the space provided below and submit for teacher review. If you choose to create a multimedia presentation, then upload your presentation to the Graded Activities panel at the left-hand side of the screen. Be sure to submit it for grading.
