The Prussians manipulated French use of technology during the Franco-Prussian war by
Elena L [17]
Prussia’s defeat of Austria in the Seven Weeks’ War in 1866 had confirmed Prussian leadership of the German states and threatened France’s position as the dominant power in Europe. The immediate cause of the Franco-German War, however, was the candidacy of Prince Leopold of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (who was related to the Prussian royal house) for the Spanish throne, which had been left vacant when Queen Isabella II had been deposed in 1868. The Prussian chancellor, Otto von Bismarck, and Spain’s de facto leader, Juan Prim, persuaded the reluctant Leopold to accept the Spanish throne in June 1870.

Which Cold War event happened last? Germany is divided. The Berlin Wall is built. The Korean War starts. The Warsaw Pact is form
Ann [662]

The Cold War event that happened last was the Berlin Wall construction.

1949 - Germany is divided

-After World War II, Germany was occupied militarily by the Allied, dividing the territory into four autonomous zones of occupation, under the unified command of an Allied Control Council. Although the initial plan was to reunify the country, the growing tension between the United States and the Soviet Union in the framework of the Cold War caused the western occupation zones to unite in 1949 into a new independent state called the Federal Republic of Germany, to which the USSR responded constituting the same year the German Democratic Republic in its respective zone of occupation.

1950 - The Korean War starts

-The Korean War took place between 1950 and 1953. It faced the Republic of Korea, supported by the armed forces of several countries commanded by the United States; and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, supported by the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union.

1955 - The Warsaw Pact is formes

-The Warsaw Pact was a military cooperation agreement signed on May 14, 1955 by the countries of the Eastern Bloc.

1961 - The Berlin Wall is built

-The Berlin Wall was a security wall that formed part of the inter-German border from August 13, 1961 to November 9, 1989.

Why was the United States military surprised by the Tet Offensive?
erica [24]

Answer:

The Tet Offensive had an early attack, which caught people off guard.

Explanation:

So as we know, The Tet Offensive was a major military offensive launched by the army of North Vietnam against the United States and the South Vietnamese Army during the holiday of Tet during 1968. The purpose of the offensive was to strike military and civilian command and control centers throughout South Vietnam and to spark a general uprising among the population that would then topple the Saigon government, thus ending the war in a single blow. So both North and South Vietnam announced on national radio broadcasts that there would be a two-day cease-fire during the holiday. This early attack did not, however, cause undue alarm or lead to widespread allied defensive measures. When the main Viet Cong operation began the next morning, the offensive was countrywide in scope and well coordinated, with more than 80,000 communist troops striking more than 100 towns and cities, including 36 of 44 provincial capitals, five of the six autonomous cities, 72 of 245 district towns, and the national capital.
