The main difference between a sheep heart and a frog heart is that sheep have a four-chambered heart and frog three-chambered heart.

The heart of an amphibian, such as a frog, has three chambers, one ventricle and two atria. Blood from the ventricle travels to the lungs and skin where respiration occurs and where the blood becomes oxygenated. From the ventricle, blood also travels to the rest of the body where it becomes deoxygenated. In the ventricle, deoxygenated and oxygenated blood are mixed before being pumped out of the heart.

On the other hand, mammals (including sheep) have two atria and two completely divided ventricles. The left side of the heart pumps and receives only oxygenated blood while the right side of the heart pumps and receives only deoxygenated blood, meaning that their systemic and pulmonary systems are separated. The separation of these two systems enables mammals to deliver more oxygen to their tissues (because there is no mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood). Thus, mammals' heart is more efficient.

Suffering the impact of swarms of locusts, a farmer uses an airplane to spray an insecticide over 1,500 acres of his corn field.
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

C. a chemical treatment.

Explanation:

In this case we would be talking about a chemical treatment, since the application of an artificial compound is made, and it is not clarified that it was "ecofriendly".

On the other hand, the question clarifies that the farmer is suffering from the plague. This indicates that he is not preventing it (Integrated pest management), he is treating it.

Finally, it should not be considered as an agronomic treatment, since no real modifications are being made to the way the field is managed.

Why do fish have gills
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer: Like us, fish also need to take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide in order to survive. But instead of lungs, they use gills. ... As the fish opens its mouth, water runs over the gills, and blood in the capillaries picks up oxygen that's dissolved in the water.

11) In a typical energy pyramid about 10% of the available energy is transferred from one trophic level to the next. Consider an
crimeas [40]

Answer: Option B

Explanation:

In a typical energy pyramid the amount of energy that is being transferred is only 10% rest of the energy is lost in the form of heat.

The energy from the sun is converted in the form of chemical energy which is stored in the producers.

10 per cent of this energy is transferred to the next trophic level and rest of the energy is lost in the form of heat. This goes on, there is only a transfer of 10 % energy from the successive levels.

So, if the producers have 200 Kcal/m2/year energy the the primary consumers will have 10% of this energy which is equivalent to 20 Kcal/m2/year and then the secondary consumers will have 10 % of 20 Kcal/m2/year which is equivalent to 2 Kcal/m2/year.
