Answer:

War poetry, regardless of the era from which it originated, captures themes that carry across generations. It also seeks to create new language, which later generations use as a framework for understanding war history. For Decaul, poetry falls into two categories: visceral and meditative

Answer:

Roughly 10 million soldiers lost their lives in World War I, along with seven million civilians. The horror of the war and its aftermath altered the world for decades, and poets responded to the brutalities and losses in new ways. Just months before his death in 1918, English poet Wilfred Owen famously wrote, “This book is not about heroes. English Poetry is not yet fit to speak of them. Nor is it about deeds, or lands, nor anything about glory, honour, might, majesty, dominion, or power, except War. Above all I am not concerned with Poetry. My subject is War, and the pity of War.”

After World War II, what did Congress do to help the nation transition from a wartime economy to a peacetime economy?
9966 [12]

C) Reestablished controls on prices, wages, and rents.

In 1946, a joint resolution of Congress extended the price controls enacted during World War II for an extra year past their initially planned end date, in order to help as the country transitioned to a peacetime economy. The government wanted to get away from price controls, but didn't want to do so too abruptly. The joint resolution (passed in July, 1946), included this statement: "It is hereby declared to be the policy of the Congress that the Office of Price Administration, and other agencies of the Government, shall use their price, subsidy, and other powers to promote the earliest practicable balance between production and the demand therefor of commodities under their control, and that the general control of prices and the use of subsidy powers shall, subject to other specific provisions of this Act, be terminated as rapidly as possible consistent with the policies and purposes set forth in this section and in no event later than June 30, 1947, and on that date the Office of Price Administration shall be abolished. "

So there was a temporary extension of the price control measures, reestablished or extended by the joint resolution of Congress.

The Federalists would agree with which of the following items in regard to the structure of the American government?
Blababa [14]

Answer:

Group 2

Explanation:

Federalists were individuals who were in favor of a stronger federal (aka central) government. Federalists believed that the US needed a stronger federal government after the Articles of Confederation, America's first constitution,  were a failure. The Articles of Confederation gave almost no real power to the federal government. This resulted in several different problems.

This is why the federalists favored a stronger federal government that had the ability to tax, regulate trade between states, and negotiate deals with other nations.
