The change that can be depicted from the story was that in the beginning Greg dreaded the lecture from his father but this changed in the end as he anticipated the lecture.

From the story, it can be inferred that Greg was in a bad mood and he wasn't ready to listen to the lecture that his father wanted to give him.

In the end of the story, we can deduce that this changed as Greg was already anticipating about the lecture that he was going to receive from his dad.

The change was due to the fact that his father wanted to tell him about how he lost his son and he was anxious about it.
