Dehydration synthesis is the process by which two monosaccharide are joined to form a disaccharide.

Monosaccharides, known as simple sugar, is the simplest form of carbohydrates. Its basic molecular formula is CH2O. Monosaccharides are glucose, fructose, and galactose. Its primary function is to be the source of energy of living organisms. It is also the primary requirement for the formation of disaccharides and polysaccharides.

<span>Disaccharides are formed when two monosaccharides are bonded together through a covalent bond. Common Dissaccharides are sucrose  (glucose+fructose) or table sugar, maltose (glucose+glucose), and lactose (glucose+galactose). Its primary function is to provide nutrition for monosaccharides. Sugar in food is mostly dissaccharides.</span>

What causes the doldrums to be calm winds?
arlik [135]

Earth revolves around the sun, keeping doldrums stationary causes the doldrums to be calm winds. Thus, the correct option is C.

<h3>Why are the doldrums so calm?</h3>

The Intertropical Convergence Zone, also known as the doldrums or calms by sailors due to its constant lack of wind, is the area where the northeast and southeast trade winds meet. It encircles the Earth near the thermal equator, however its exact location changes with the seasons.

The sunlight beams down directly on the area around the equator, the Doldrums are caused by solar radiation from the sun. Instead of blowing horizontally, this heating causes the air to warm and climb straight up. As a result, there is little or no wind for weeks at a time.

Which section of the pre-mrna contains the protein-coding regions
raketka [301]

The exons of the pre -mRNA contain the protein -coding regions.

Pre mRNA is the first made mRNA transcript and requires undergo many post transcriptional modifications for the formation of a mature mRNA.

The exons are the regions of the pre-mRNA that are found in the mature RNA, after the splicing of introns takes place.

RNA splicing is the process in which the non-coding segments of the RNA, which are known as introns, are removed by the help of small nuclear ribonucleoproteins.  These SnRNPs make the spliceosome, which catalyzes the process of splicing.

After the introns are removed by the splicing process, the exons are covalently joined, which forms the mature mRNA.

  1. Loose connective tissue
  2. Dense connective tissue
  3. Specialized connective tissue

Tendon and Ligaments come under dense connective tissue category. Tendon is a fibrous connective tissue and connects muscles to bone. It has capability to withstand tension.

Ligaments connect bones to bones.
