The three steps learners must follow before they can write their NBTs are:

Check for the school you're writing into if it's necessary to write NBTs
Register and pay for the exam
Prepare for the exam

This is called National Benchmark Test. It is an exam written by students who wants to be study in the university. The exam is used to test their academic ability and readiness for university.

The NBT comprise of two separate tests. They are;

Academic and Quantitative Literacy (AQL),
Mathematics (MAT) test.
