The basic rigid motions are A) Translation, reflections and rotations
In other words, we can shift an object, mirror it over a line, or turn it, to keep the same basic size and shape of the object. The object keeps the same area and perimeter, as well as the angles and sides staying the same as well.
A transformation that isn't a rigid motion would be a dilation. A dilation enlarges or shrinks a figure, so it doesn't keep the same size (though it keeps the same shape to make the before and after figures similar).

A turn is also called A) rotation
A rotation needs to have information about what center point you're turning around. Often this is the origin. You'll also need the amount of rotation applied, as well as if you're going counterclockwise or clockwise.
So lets add the common fractions 3/4+3/4+1/4+1/2=7/4+1/2=18/8, now the whole numbers 3+1+2+4+2=12, so 12 18/8 and simplify 14 2/8= 14 1/4 <span />

4x - 7y = -15
Multiply the first equation by -2 to make the 2x the opposite of 4x:
2x - 2y = -12 x -2 = -4x + 4y = 24
Now add this to the second equation:
-4x + 4y = 24 + 4x - 7y = -15:

Divide both sides by -3
y = 9 / -3
y = -3
Now you have Y, replace y in one of the equations and solve for x:
2x - 2(-3) = -12
2x +6 = -12
Subtract 6 from both sides:
2x = -18
Divide both sides by 2:
x = -18 /2
X = -9
Check:
2(-9) - 2(-3) = -12
-18 + 6 = -12 TRUE
4(-9) - 7(-3) = -15
-36 +21 = -15 TRUE
X = -9, y = -3
