Nativism is the political policy of promoting or protecting the interests of native or indigenous inhabitants over those of immigrants, including the support of immigration-restriction measures.

In scholarly studies, nativism is a standard technical term, although those who hold this political view do not typically accept the label. Oezguer Dindar wrote, "Nativists do not consider themselves to be nativists. For them it is a negative term and they rather consider themselves as 'Patriots'

DanielleElmas [232]

Answer:

The correct answer is C. As a military leader, George McClellan was known for training soldiers how to fight.

Explanation:

George Brinton McClellan was a Major General in the Union Army during the Civil War, the Democratic presidential candidate in the 1864 presidential election against Abraham Lincoln, and governor of New Jersey from 1878 to 1881.

During the Civil War, McClellan organized the Potomac Army and served from November 1861 to March 1862 as the highest military commander of the Union Army. At the start of the war, McClellan played an important role in setting up a well-trained and organized army for the Union. On the battlefield, he often overestimated the opponents' strengths and hesitated to use their reserves in positions that could have given decisive victories.
