Answer:

The phenomenon of endosymbiosis gave rise to more multicellular organisms.

Life on Earth is known to have started from prokaryotes. Prokaryotes were simple, unicellular organisms that managed to survive the harsh conditions of the Earth.

The theory of endosymbiosis provides evidence that with the passage of time, the bigger prokaryotes began engulfing the smaller prokaryotes. As a result, multicellular organisms were formed. Organelles like the mitochondria and chloroplast support the validity of this hypothesis.

What two organ systems are most involved in controlling the negative feedback systems of the body?
ololo11 [35]

Answer:

The respiratory system as well as circulatory system (hormonal system) are involved in controlling the negative feedback of our body.

Explanation:

The respiratory system helps in controlling the negative feedback in such a  way that if CO2 level increases in body the system acts in such a way so as to decrease  its level in body . the system attains a normal level by  increasing the blood circulation and increasing the breathing level forcing CO2 outside of our body.

in case of circulatory system, the blood has several hormones released from glands . the most common example is Insulin and Glucagon .

if a person is hypoglycemic then glucagon concentration increases and blood glucose concentration returns to normal and if a person has hyperglycemia then insulin level increases which in turn increases glucose uptake from body and body returns to normal level.

Suppose that you have a particular S. cerevisiae mutant strain that cannot make the amino acid leucine. Will the strain grow on
Ronch [10]

Answer:

The amino acids are important for the growth of almost all the organisms from the yeast to humans. While culturing yeast at the lab conditions, proper growth media is required.

The yeast is not able to make leucine. When this yeast is grown in the YPD plate, the growth of yeast is supported. The YPD consists of peptones, glucose and yeast extract. This media is enriched with all the components required for the yeast growth. The SD plate is also known as synthetic plate  that do not contain the essential amino acids and consists of only nitrogenous bases. The mutant yeast will unable to grown in this media as leucine is not available. The mutant can be grown on this plate if the plate is supplied with the external media consisting of leucine and other essential amino acids.
