Read the excerpt from the story “The Surprise Anniversary Party,” and select the two sentences or phrases in the paragraphs that

show how telling the story in a first-person point of view allows the reader to get a better understanding of Ellie’s character than if the story were told in a third-person point of view.
On the way home we stopped at a boutique store, and I found a sapphire scarf that would accentuate Mom's wardrobe; I always told her she needed to update her clothes. For Dad, I chose a new golf shirt. I thanked Grandma—she loaned me the money.

By the time I returned home, Ethan had the yard mowed, but I spied a hideous gnome in the flower garden he’d gotten out of the garage. I’d never been fond of them, so I hid it in the garage.

Read the passage below carefully and then choose the correct answer.
Dahasolnce [82]
It was a message to Julius Caesar warning him of his death. The Ides of March didn't signify anything special in itself - this was just the usual way of saying "March 15th". The notion of the Ides being a dangerous date was purely an invention of Shakespeare's; each month has an Ides (often the 15th) and this date wasn't significant in being associated with death prior to 1601.
