Compare and contrast Russia before and after the Revolution.
vladimir2022 [97]

The Russian Revolution took place in 1917 when the farmers and the working class of Russia, led by Vladimir Lenin and a group of revolutionaries called the Bolsheviks , rebelled against the government of Tsar Nicholas II.

Before the revolution, Russia was ruled by a powerful monarch called the Tsar, who had total power in Russia since he commanded the army, owned much of the land, and controlled the church as well. During this period life for the working class as well as farmers was very difficult because they worked for little pay, without food, and were exposed to dangerous working conditions. Therefore, it could be said that the Russian aristocrat class treated the farmers like slaaves, giving them few rights under the law.

On the other hand, after the revolution, the new government took control of all industry and moved the Russian economy from a rural one to an industrial one. This new goverment also confiscated farmland from landholders and distributed it among the farmers. Similarly, after the revolution women were given the same rights that men and religion was banned from many aspects of society.
