Question 1 (1 point) Question 1 Saved
alekssr [168]

In Spanish, we use the conditional tense (el condicional) to talk about hypothetical situations and possibilities and to make polite requests. There are both regular and irregular conditional forms.

If you want to form the conditional tense with the regular verbs, you need to add the conditional endings to the end of the infinitive as indicated in the Table below.

On the other hand, there are basically three categories for irregular verbs:

a) Verbs where the last vowel in the infinitive is replaced with a d. In this category only er and ir verbs fall. If we want to form the stem of these verbs, we just simply replace the e or i at the end of the infinitive with a d. Then, we add the conditional endings indicated in the Table below.

b) Verbs where the last vowel in the infinitive is removed. In this category only er verbs fall. If we want to form the stem of these verbs, we must remove the vowel from the infinitive ending. Then, we add the conditional endings shown in the Table below.

c) Verbs that are simply irregular. For example, the verbs decir and hacer fall in this category.

In this way, we can solve this exercise:

Q1.

The right answer is A) hablaría

Yo hablaría con la maestra

Regular verb: Hablar

Q2.

The right answer is C) ayudarían

Mis amigos ayudarían a los padres

Regular Verb: Ayudar

Q3.

The right answer is B) viviría

Con un millón de dólares, yo viviría en Italia

Regular verb: vivir

Q4.

The right answer is A) saldría

Yo saldría inmediatamente después de mis clases

Irregular verb: Salir

Q5.

The right answer is D) dirías

¿Qué dirías tú al rey de Inglaterra?

Irregular verb: decir

Q6.

The right answer is C) querría

Sara querría ir al lago

Irregular verb: querer

Q7.

The right answer is A) visitarías

¿Visitarías tú el desierto valle de la muerte?

Regular verb: visitar

Q8.

The right answer is C) Nosotros siempre diríamos la verdad

This sentence is in a conditional form. As we said above the verb decir is irregular so the conjugation in this case is diríamos.

Q9.

The right answer is B) Ella haría la tierra más limpia

The verb hacer is also irregular, so the conjugation in this case is haría

Q10.

The right answer is A) tendrías

¿Tendrías tiempo para hablar mañana?

Irregular verb: tener
