Answer:

explanation below

Explanation:

Europeans did not have the right to colonize other people. Although at the time they viewed themselves as the superiors of the world, colonizing other nations lead to many nations becoming similar to European countries and being forced to do labor rather than develop their own culture and system. Europeans could have achieved their goals of wealth and power without colonizing other people. This could've been achieved by creating alliances with nations they wished to colonize rather than completely taking them over. This would've lead to not only peaceful and larger relations but beneficial circumstances to both parties.

Answer:

D. Jules Ferry.

Explanation:

In the journal entry "Imperialism and Resistance Shape the Modern World", authors Saul Straussman and Bridgette Byrd delve into how Imperialism increased and was also beneficial for the European powers. It also reveals how such a process was successful, and how it has shaped the way the modern world is now.

Among the numerous personalities quoted in the article, Jules Ferry would be most likely supportive of the statement that Europeans are superior to other races. This can be judged from his statement :

Gentlemen, I must speak from a higher and more truthful plane. It must be stated openly that, in effect, superior races have rights over inferior races…. I repeat that superior races have a right because they have a duty. They have the duty to civilize inferior races…. (qtd. in Andrea and Overfield 296)

He emphasized and justifies the act of imperialism, implying that it was the Europeans' right and job to 'civilize' the other weaker and lesser races.

Thus, the correct answer is option D.

Which of the following two ideas best captures the issues debated in the Iconoclast Controversy?
Zarrin [17]

The two ideas that best capture debates in the Iconoclast Controversy were Art and idolatry.

What was the Iconoclast Controversy ?

This was a movement by the Iconoclasts who believed that painting God in paintings should be criminalized.

They believed that God was invisible and a spirit and so should not be painted because it could lead to idolatry. This therefore was a conflict between art and idolatry.

What started the greco persian wars
wolverine [178]
They started because the Persian Empire expanded into Ionia where there were several Greek colonies. The colonists sent back to Greece for help. The Athenians sent a few ships to help the colonists, but the cities were taken any way. To put the mainland Greeks in their place, the Persians sent a small force to punish the Greeks. So begins the battle of Marathon.
