I can’t remember the last time I got a good night’s sleep. I keep waking up because I’m so stressed about my math class. I just

toss and turn, thinking about the next question I’ll get wrong when the teacher calls on me. When the morning alarm goes off, I’m exhausted, and by the time math class rolls around, I can barely keep my eyes open. Help!

Answer:

Answers below :)

Explanation:

1. Being afraid of failure and be called out is the reason for the persons stress. They state, “thinking about the next question I’ll get wrong when the teacher calls on me.” This shows they are afraid of failing and getting the questions wrong, and they are also afraid of the teacher calling on them when they don’t know the answer and probably the feeling of shame that will come with it.

2. The situation is causing the student to lose sleep, making their body not have energy, and their mind sluggish, causing them to do worse and just wanting to sleeping during school. “ I keep waking up because I’m so stressed about my math class.” This further shows that the situation is harming the person mentality with stress, which causes them to hurt physically as they have no energy and their mind/body is sluggish and weak.

3. Two ways to reduce the stress are 1. Be prepared in advance, study and review the topics your learning and reach out for help. This will help you not be stressed because you will know the topics. 2. Take time for yourself by relaxing and taking time to not think about the stuff that worries you. Also make sure to exercise, so when it’s time for bed your body and mind are already tired (in a good way) and get a good nights rest.
