To me this is kind of an opinion question, but if i were to answer this as likea. factual question it would be the same answer so imma just put my opinion

My opinions is that Columbus <u>shouldn't</u> be revered (to be honored) for this discovery, because he didnt discover it. But i do think he should be credited for exploring the Americas.

and like i said i think the answer is the same thing
