Answer:

War has become more gory and devastating. Advanced weapons have been invented and improved, such as atomic bombs. Conventional weapons have been abandoned; weapons with greater destructive power are used instead. Besides, political leaders have been accused of inhumane treatment of prisoners-of-war.

Cracking down on dissent during World War I was part of what larger governmental goal in the United States?seizing absolute powe
madam [21]

The larger goal was uniting Americans around the war effort.

Cracking down on dissent would be a negative action in support of the larger, positive goal the government sought. The government wanted a fully united public in support of the war, and so it put out the message that that freedom of speech might have its limits in times of war.

What happens when one group or individual controls all three powers
marshall27 [118]

When one group or individual controls all three powers abuse of power arises, bringing a decline in the rights and liberties of the citizens. Only true Democracy, through the appropriate implementation of the separation of powers represents a guarantee of said liberties for the citizens. In this way, no power or institution becomes more important than the others.

Someone help me asap
sergeinik [125]
Montesquieu most likely influenced this quote. Montesquieu believed in the separation of powers, meaning the branches of government would be independent of one another and have individual responsibilities. His ideas influenced this quote from Madison by stating that if all governmental branches were not separate, they would cause conflict and there would be an extreme imbalance of power, which would explain Madison’s monicker of “tyranny”.
