Which character is the antagonist in this excerpt from “The Story of the Old Man Who Made Withered Trees to Flower” by Yei Theod

ora Ozaki?
After waiting several days, as the dog Shiro did not return, his master began to grow anxious. Day after day went by and the good old man waited in vain. Then he went to his neighbor and asked him to give him back his dog. Without any shame or hesitation, the wicked neighbor answered that he had killed Shiro because of his bad behavior. At this dreadful news Shiro’s master wept many sad and bitter tears. Great indeed, was his woeful surprise, but he was too good and gentle to reproach his bad neighbor. Learning that Shiro was buried under the yenoki tree in the field, he asked the old man to give him the tree, in remembrance of his poor dog Shiro.

Even the cross old neighbor could not refuse such a simple request, so he consented to give the old man the tree under which Shiro lay buried. Shiro’s master then cut the tree down and carried it home. Out of the trunk he made a mortar. In this his wife put some rice, and he began to pound it with the intention of making a festival to the memory of his dog Shiro.

The neighbor has to be the antagonist, because the protagonist loved his dog very much and his neighbor killed his dog, the protagonist even called his neighbor evil, so I would go with C, the neighbor.

Answer:

The correct answer is C.

Explanation:

The antagonist in a story is that who opposes or is hostile towards the main character.

In “The Story of the Old Man Who Made Withered Trees to Flower” by Yei Theodora Ozaki, the antagonist is the dog master's neighbour, because he killed the master's precious animal only because he believed the dog behaved badly.

Write essay about children rights?
mestny [16]
First, let us understand what are “Rights”

Generally, rights are a moral or legal entitlement to have or to do something they are meant for intellectual and spiritual development of an Individual and which also have a moral obligation upon him/her.

Now, how important are they??

Every one of us has the right to live, it does not really mean mere existence, it means living with dignity and having all the basic necessities for survival like for example food, shelter, education, clothing, clean environment and having peaceful standards of life.

Many Constitutions in the world has codified some basic rights as their fundamental rights for the betterment of their citizens, similar to that one we have in India.

Hence now we can conclude that for every individual to unleash his/her true potential some fundamental rights guaranteed by the law are necessary and it shall be the duty of the state to guarantee Rights to their citizens.

In similar to these fundamental rights even children also should have some basic rights to enjoy!!

Who is a Child??

According to United Nations any individual under the age of 18 is a child, even they have their own basic needs such as
Right to get a universal education.
Right to get universal health care.
Right to have the basic liberty of thoughts and expression.
Rights for physical protection from abuse (in any form).
Right to an adequate standard of living.

Explanation:

The sunflower is an extremely strong flower, most underestimate how strong the sunflower is. They can stand up to 200 mph winds, allowing them to stand strong during strong winds. This helps them really well especially when they have to deal with large tornadoes that can even destroy buildings! This shows the true strength of the sunflower. If a flower that stands 6ish feet tall can stand strong in the ground while buildings made up of concrete and wood get instantly destroyed into small pieces. The sunflower is truly the best flower to ever exist and nothing can beat it.

How does Machiavelli use of words such as seizing, usurper, inflict, knife, win, reassure, and benefits affect the tone of passa
Kay [80]

Read the excerpt from chapter 8 of The Prince. Hence it is to be remarked that, in seizing a state, the usurper ought to examine closely into all those injuries which it is necessary for him to inflict, and to do them all at one stroke so as not to have to repeat them daily; and thus by not unsettling men he will be able to reassure them, and win them to himself by benefits. He who does otherwise, either from timidity or evil advice, is always compelled to keep the knife in his hand; neither can he rely on his subjects, nor can they attach themselves to him, owing to their continued and repeated wrongs. For injuries ought to be done all at one time, so that, being tasted less, they offend less; benefits ought to be given little by little, so that the flavour of them may last longer. How does Machiavelli’s use of words such as seizing, usurper, inflict, knife, win, reassure, and benefits affect the tone of the passage? A. There are more words with negative ones than positive ones, creating a frightening tone. B. There are more words with negative ones than positive ones, creating a threatening tone. C. The words with positive connotations soften the ones with negative connotations to create a serious, matter-of-fact tone. D. The words with positive connotations are used to create an encouraging tone.

The words with positive connotations soften the ones with negative connotations to create a serious, matter-of-fact tone.

Answer: Option C.

Explanation:

The following excerpt has been taken from 'The Prince' which is written by Niccolo Machiavelli in which Chapter 8 is concerned with those people who have obtained in them the principality by wickedness.

This proves a very good example for the people who want to understand the intricacies of ascending or increasing themselves in the politics or in the seat of power.
