13/14. If you multiply 5/6 by 2 you get 10/12. By 3 is 15/18 and by 5 is 25/30. These can all be simplified down to 5/6, but 13/14 cannot.

10/12 LMF=2 10/12 divided by 2= 5/6
15/18 GMF=3 15/18 divided by 3=5/6
25/30 GMF=5 25/30 divided by 5= 5/6
13/14 has no solution

Which expression is a difference of cubes? 9w^33-y^12 18p^15-q^21 36a^22-b^16 64c^15- a^26
LiRa [457]

we know that

A polynomial in the form a^{3}-b^{3} is called adifference of cubes. Both terms must be a perfect cubes

Let's verify each case to determine the solution to the problem

<u>case A)</u> 9w^{33} -y^{12}

we know that

9=3^{2} ------> <u>the term is not a perfect cube</u>

w^{33}=(w^{11})^{3} ------> the term is a perfect cube

y^{12}=(y^{4})^{3} ------> the term is a perfect cube

therefore

The expression 9w^{33} -y^{12} is not a difference of cubes because the term 9 is not a perfect cube

<u>case B)</u> 18p^{15} -q^{21}

we know that

18=2*3^{2} ------> <u>the term is not a perfect cube</u>

p^{15}=(p^{5})^{3} ------> the term is a perfect cube

q^{21}=(q^{7})^{3} ------> the term is a perfect cube

therefore

The expression 18p^{15} -q^{21} is not a difference of cubes because the term 18 is not a perfect cube

<u>case C)</u> 36a^{22} -b^{16}

we know that

36=2^{2}*3^{2} ------> <u>the term is not a perfect cube</u>

a^{22} ------>  <u>the term is not a perfect cube</u>

b^{16} ------> <u>the term is not a perfect cube</u>

therefore

The expression 36a^{22} -b^{16} is not a difference of cubes because all terms are not perfect cubes

<u>case D)</u> 64c^{15} -a^{26}

we know that

64=2^{6}=(2^{2})^{3} ------>  the term is a perfect cube

c^{15}=(c^{5})^{3} ------>   the term is a perfect cube

a^{26} ------> <u>the term is not a perfect cube</u>

therefore

The expression 64c^{15} -a^{26} is not a difference of cubes because the term a^{26} is not a perfect cube

I'm adding a new case so I can better explain the problem

<u>case E)</u> 64c^{15} -d^{27}

we know that

64=2^{6}=(2^{2})^{3} ------>  the term is a perfect cube

c^{15}=(c^{5})^{3} ------>   the term is a perfect cube

d^{27}=(d^{9})^{3} ------>  the term is a perfect cube

Substitute

64c^{15} -d^{27}=((2^{2})(c^{5}))^{3}-(d^{9})^{3}

therefore

The expression 64c^{15} -d^{27} is a difference of cubes because all terms are perfect cubes

A population of 1,750 cheetahs decreases by 10% per year. How many cheetahs will there be in the population after 11 years? Roun
Triss [41]

Answer:

The answer is C. 546.

If a population decreases by 11%, that means that 89% (100% - 11% = 89%) of cheetahs remains each number. 89% can be expressed as 0.89, so to calculate the change of the population, we must each year multiply the number of cheetahs by 0.89.

After 1 year:     1750 * 0.89 ≈ 1558

After 2 years:  1558 * 0.89 ≈ 1387

After 3 years:  1387 * 0.89 ≈ 1234

After 4 years:  1234 * 0.89 ≈ 1098

After 5 years:  1098 * 0.89 ≈ 977

After 6 years:  977 * 0.89 ≈ 870

After 7 years:  870 * 0.89 ≈ 774

After 8 years:  774 * 0.89 ≈ 689

After 9 years:  689 * 0.89 ≈ 613

After 10 years:  613 * 0.89 ≈ 546

Please at least do part A and explain! I have no idea how to do it.
Fudgin [204]
Part A:
Round 296 to 300
Round 56% to 60%
60% of 300 is 180
300+180=480 employees

Part B:
56% of 296 is 165.76
296+165.76=461.76
