This solution is arrived at using the principles of Quadratic Functions and Inequalities. It is to be noted that the function increases at (-8, 4).

<h3>What are Quadratic Functions?</h3>

A quadratic function can be defined as that is written in the following way: f(x) = ax2 + bx + c: Where a, b, and c are numbers not equal to zero.

<h3>How do we solve the problem above?</h3>

To solve the problem f(4x - 3) ≥ f(2 - x^2), Df = (-8 , 4), we:

  • Rewrite
  • Collect like terms
  • Expand
  • Factorize, then
  • Solve for <em>x</em>.

A) 4x - 3 ≥ 2 - x²

Rewrite as:  x² + 4x - 2 - 3 ≥ 0

B) Collect the like terms

x² + 4x - 5 ≥ 0

C) Expand to have  x² + 5x - x - 5 ≥ 0

D) Factorizing the expression we have

x(x + 5) - 1(x + 5) ≥ 0, from this we  Factor away x + 5

(x - 1)(x + 5) ≥ 0

E) Solving  for x we obtain: x ≥ 1 or x ≥ -5

This can also be rewritten to read:

-5 ≤ x ≤ 1

Create2 ratios that are equivalent to the ratios below6:10 answer
Andrews [41]

Answer:

3:5, 12:20

Step-by-step explanation:

A ratio is basically just a fraction. Therefore, 6:10 is just 6/10, or 3/5, or 3:5. It's the same thing as a fraction, just with a colon.

Thus, all you need is two equivalent fractions to 6/10. Examples are 3/5, 12/20, 30/50, etc. After you find the fractions, you just need to put them back into ratio form, so 3:5, 12:20, 30:50, etc.

Octogon
sides=4
draw lines from the outside angles to the center so they form 8 equal triangle sections
find the area of each triangle and multiply by 8

area of triangle=1/2 base times height
base=4
the height is the distance from the center of one side of the octogon, to the center=5
so area=4 times 1/2 times 5=4 times 5=10

8 triangles so 8 times 10=80
the answer is 80cm^2
the diagram included below shows area for a pentagon
