The function of zip code and Postal code is almost the same but there are a few differences in both codes.

Difference between postal code and Zip code.

Definition- Zip code is a coding system that helps in tracking the mail while the postal code is an alphanumeric code that helps in tracking the mail

Countries- The zip code is used in countries like the USA and the Philippines while the postal code is used in all countries except the USA and the Philippines.

Introduced- The zip code was introduced in 1963 while the postal code was introduced in 1959.

Although both have some difference though main work of both codes are the sorting of mail
