What are three main ideas in dalton's atomic theory? Check all that apply. Check all that apply. There are as many negatively ch

arged electrons outside the nucleus as there are positively charged particles (protons) inside the nucleus, so that the atom is electrically neutral. Elements are composed of atoms. Most of the volume of the atom is empty space through which the tiny, negatively charged electrons are dispersed. All atoms of an element are identical, and each element has unique atoms. Most of the atom's mass and all of its positive charge are contained in a small core called the nucleus. Atoms combine to form compounds in simple, whole number ratios?

Statements of questions:

There are following statements given in question are true according to Dalton theory which are following

 1. Atoms combine to form compounds in simple, whole number ratios.
 2. All atoms of an element are identical, and each element has unique atoms,
 3. Elements are composed of atoms.

While the remaining points were discovered after the Dalton theory.

 1. An atom is divisible( Proton, neutron, electrons).
 2. Atom is neutral.
 3. Idea about nucleus.
 4. Shell and sub-shells of electron around the nucleus
 5. Space in atom

Main ideas of Dalton theory:

 1. According to Dalton's theory, matter is composed of atoms, these atoms are indivisible.
 2. Each element has same atoms while different elements have atoms of different size.
 3. According to Dalton's theory, all compounds were formed by the combination of atoms in define ratio.
 4. According to Dalton's theory, re-arrangements of these atoms causes the chemical reactions.

Limitations of Dalton theory:

 • Atoms are divisible, atoms consist of three fundamentals particles protons, neutrons and electrons.
 • Sometime atoms of same elements may have different masses.
 • Sometime atoms of same elements may have different masses.
 • There is no necessary for atoms of different elements that they will combine in simple whole number ratio.

175 ml of a 1.6 m solution of kcl is diluted to a new volume of 1.0 l. what is the new concentration of the solution? (3 points)
djyliett [7]

175 ml of a 1.6 m solution of KCl is diluted to a new volume of 1.0 L. The new concentration of the solution is 0.28 m KCl.

Hence, Option (B) is correct answer.

What is Concentration ?

Concentration is defined as the measure of how much substance there is mixed with another substance.

How to find the concentration ?

To find the concentration use the dilution formula

C₁V₁ = C₂V₂

where,

C₁ = Concentration of starting solution

C₂ = Concentration of final solution

V₁ = Volume of the starting solution

V₂ = Volume of the final solution

Now put the values in above formula we get

C₁V₁ = C₂V₂

1.6 × 0.175 = C₂ × 1.0

0.28 = C₂ × 1.0

C₂ = 0.28

Thus from the above conclusion we can say that 175 ml of a 1.6 m solution of KCl is diluted to a new volume of 1.0 L. The new concentration of the solution is 0.28 m KCl.

Hence, Option (B) is correct answer.

The growth of the plants that the animal used for food could not keep up with the needs of the population. there was so little f
WARRIOR [948]

In this case, the population has exceeded the available food, thus causing a decline in the population.

What is carrying capacity?

It is the maximum population size that an ecosystem can sustain based on the resources that it has.

Above the carrying capacity, resources become extremely limited and competition becomes stiff in the population. Thus, the population declines.

Below the carrying capacity, resources are abundant and the population grows. Most of the time, a mature population hovers around the carrying capacity of the ecosystem.

. Citric acid, which can be obtained from lemon juice, has the molecular formula C6H8O7. A 0.250-g sample of citric acid dissolv
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

3 acidic hydrogens per molecule of citric acid

Explanation:

In a sample of 37.2 mL(0.0372 L) of 0.105 mol/L of NaOH, will have:

n = 0.105x0.0372 = 0.0039 mol of NaOH

The dissociation of NaOH will give the same number of moles of Na⁺ and OH⁻.

The molar mass of citric acid is:

C: 12g/mol x 6 = 72 g/mol

H: 1g/mol x 8 = 8g/mol

O: 16 g/mol x 7 = 112 g/mol

192 g/mol

So, 0.250g of the acid has

n = mass/molar mass

n = 0.250/192

n = 0.0013 mol.

To be neutralized, it will be necessary 0.0039 mol of acidic hydrogens to react with the 0.0039 mol of OH⁻.

The dissociation reaction of one molecule of the acid will give the stoichiometry:

1 mol of acid ----------------------- x mol of acidic hydrogens

0.0013 mol --------------------------- 0.0039

For a simple direct three rule:

0.0013x = 0.0039

x = 3 acidic hydrogens per molecule of citric acid.
