Exercise 1 Reorganize each paragraph for meaning, unity, and coherence.
Whitepunk [10]

Answer: The paragraph can be reorganized by arranging events in chronological order.

Explanation: Earvin Johnson was born in 1959. He was nicknamed "Magic" because of a spectacular basketball game he played in high school. He went to Michigan State to play college basketball. Earvin "Magic" Johnson played professional basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers. Recently, he contracted HIV and retired from playing professional basketball.

The above paragraph is chronologically accurate because the events that occured first have been mentioned first. The paragraph begins with the mention of Earvin Johnson's birth, college and ends at his profession and retirement.

This makes it easy to understand his life and makes the paragraph more legible.

An essay about something that's bothering you
zavuch27 [327]

Answer:  There are a lot of things that annoy me. I'll be at work waiting for a customer to pay and they'll have one hand with a bill and the other hand with change. Since they're too lazy to count the change they give me the bill. When I give them back their change they complain that they have to much change now. These people don't make any sense. Why didn't you just give me your change in the first place? Or when I'm at work and a customer asks for something and I'm making it then all of sudden they change their mind. It's really annoying having to do it over especially when there's a line of customers behind them.

Another thing is people walking so slowly in the hallway. They take their time and never move out of your way.

It's annoying when you go to the mall and when you go into a store and all these salespeople are always coming up to you. If I needed help, I'd ask.

When I went shopping for my prom dress the saleslady would not leave me alone. I wanted to look myself and she was always behind me waiting. Also every dress I tried on she would say it looks so nice even if it's the ugliest thing.

I though that when I went on vacation to Florida I wouldn't have to worry about things like that. Florida is much worse. There's so many rude people there. I was on the bus one day and I asked someone how far the mall was and he just looked at me and said "I don't know" and rudely turned away.

The traffic lights in Florida literally take five minutes to change. As soon as it changes you have to be ready to go because their are a lot of people that can't drive and they'll run you over. I almost got hit a bunch of times by cars. They really can't drive down there.

I went shopping there in some expensive stores and the salespeople don't offer you any help because they think you can't afford it.
