Birmingham in 1963 was a hard place for black people to live in. It was also one of the most challenging places to demonstrate for civil rights. A city where public facilities were separate for blacks and whites. Which means black people were not treated like humans.

He wanted all these things to stop forever that is why he went to birmingham and started a non-violent protest which ended him into jail but that protest helped the black people at the end.
