The text structure used in the given excerpt is a sequence, which is indicated by the words then and but after.

Explanation:

Text structure refers to the way information is organized within a text. Common types of text structure include:

  • Sequence (also called Order). Readers get insight into chronological order of events or a list of steps of a certain procedure.
  • Description. A detailed description is provided in order to allow the reader to vividly picture what is presented.
  • Compare and contrast. Similarities and differences between two or more people or things, which may be objects, events, ideas, or concepts, are pointed out.
  • Cause and effect. The relationship between two events, ideas, or concepts, out of which one is considered a cause, and the other a consequence that follows, is presented.
  • Problem and solution. The solution to a problem or multiple problems is explained, and its effects are observed and discussed.

Based on that information, we can conclude that the text structure used in the excerpt from "For Want of a Horseshoe Nail" is sequence. Events are displayed in chronological order, which is indicated by words then and but after.

Can i please get help ? Find 5 qualities that Lady Macbeth and/or Macbeth exhibits in Acts 1+2 a quotation for each quality?
malfutka [58]

Here are the traits of Lady Macbeth from Act 1 to 2

1. Cunning and Deceptive

Lady Macbeth is very cunning. She was able to get the throne by persuading her husband, Macbeth to murder King Duncan. She was able to find a fool-proof way to make sure that she or her husband will not be considered suspects. She had welcome King Duncan to her home. This happened around Act 1 lines 14-18

2. Strong Personality

Unlike her husband, Lady Macbeth possesses a very strong character. She is very smart; she was able to persuade people to do things for her without exerting much. In the lines 69-79 in act I, she was able to persuade Macbeth to look at their goals and not think of the consequences

3. She is resolute and ambitious

From the lines in Act scene 7, she was able to get what she wished for. Though her husband was afraid, Lady Macbeth had made understand that if they get to kill Duncan, they will become the monarch who will rule after Duncan.

4. Calm and Collected

In the scenes in Act II. Scene i. 116-119, she remains calm after Duncan was reported to have been killed. I believe that throughout the play, Lady Macbeth had been her husband’s anchor especially when he started seeing the ghost of Banquo and Duncan.

5. Her love for her Husband

Throughout the play, Lady Macbeth wanted the throne for her husband and not for herself. She wanted him to be king and powerful. She didn’t wish it for herself. This was cited in Act I. scene v. 67, 68
