Which expression gives the solutions of -5+2x^2=-6x
Leona [35]
-5 + 2x² = -6x
rearrange the equation to the form ax² + bx + c = 0

=>  2x² + 6x - 5

use the quadratic formula to solve for the value(s) of x  -b  ±  \sqrt{ \frac{b^{2} - 4ac}{2a} }

=>   -6 ± \sqrt{ \frac{6^{2} - 4(2)(-5)}{2(2)} }

=>   -6 ± \sqrt{ \frac{36 - (-40)}{4} }

=>  -6 ± \sqrt{ \frac{76}{4} }
<span>
</span>∴  x =  -6 + \sqrt{ 19} }      OR   x = -6 -  \sqrt{19}

          x =  - 1.64 ;  x = - 10.36

how do you solve this? it said to be sure to use the correct place value, and I kinda slept in class
goblinko [34]

I assume you want me to solve the equation, 2x + 3 = x - 4

In order to solve this you need to you have to move the terms and then collect the like terms to calculate.

2x + 3 = x - 4

2x -x = -4 - 3

X = -7

Hope this helped!
