Given the expression 24 + 56, we can apply distributive property by looking for the greatest common factor of 24 and 56 and then factor it out .

The GCF of 24 and 56 is 8

24+56 = 8(3+7)

The mistake Simone does is that he wrongly divide 8 by 24 . 8 goes in 24 3 times not 4 times. Hence the values in parenthesis is supposed to be (3+7) instead of (4+7)
