By definition, the term <em>change </em>means a process by which something or an aspect of that process has undergone some kind of transformation or is different compared to the past.

One negative change someone may encounter as a student is that this student may be used to a specific teacher, his or her teaching techniques, way of testing,etc and one day without notice the school principal changes this teacher for one that would not produce the same impact or result on this student. This change will affect negatively on the student´s performance.

To adapt to a new way of things. To switch things up. One negative change as a student would be to, go from sweetheart, to mean and rude.
