No because although it isn't right to kill someone a lot of teens act on hormones and don't really think through their actions. I'm not saying they should get a low sentence I'm just saying life behind bars is an extreme punishment for someone who is new at navigating their way through life and is susceptible to pressure from peers, society, etc..
