Don't go near anything you no little or nothing about. I suspect you are running into trouble because you may not know enough about Global Warming. It is an immensely complicated subject made worse by those who could tell us the truth but don't. And billions have been spent on it with very little certainty of what the truth really is.
Even greed and death have a lot to them that no one knows about unless they are confronting them. Death is especially tricky.
Do you go to school? I mean a brick building? What do you think about that? If you don't, what about the loneliness of home schooling?
What do you know about? What problem have you encountered that you understand? Boyfriends/girlfriends? Parents? Friends? What? When you can answer that then think about your characters. You won't have any trouble at all.

Hello!
For number 6, the answer must be "see." The use for rulers is to measure. The two examples are related by the uses of the objects. Microscopes are used to see small things.
For 7, a cheetah is a very fast animal, whereas a snail is a very slow one. The answer must be "slow."
For 8, fearless and timid are opposites. This means that the answer needs to be the opposite of hazy, which would be "clear."
Lastly, for 9, to justify and to defend are very closely related. For this question, we must find a synonym or something very close to the word deceive. The word "mislead" would be an appropriate answer.
I hope this helps you! Have a great day!

Jen claims that our culture doesn't fully define us - there are many other factors that make us who we are today, including our upbringing, history, psyche, surroundings, etc.
She is talking about Asian-Americans and how differently they raise their children now than they used to in the past. Although there are still 'stereotypical' Asian parents who want their children to become doctors and scientists, there are also those who support their children's dreams of becoming athletes and following another path than the one their parents set for them. She talks about Jeremy Lin on one hand, and her brother Bob on another - Lin's parents supported his athletic career wholeheartedly whereas her parents wanted Bob to become a doctor, despite his obvious athletic skills in lacrosse.
Even though both families come from the same or similar cultures, one son was allowed to become who he truly wanted to be whereas the other one had very stereotypical Asian expectations from his parents.
