3rd grade math? My daughter and I couldn't figure this out. Help?

• So if Ethan is running on a track that is $\frac{3}{8}$ miles long, and he ran across the track twice, then you need to add $\frac{3}{8}$+$\frac{3}{8}$ to see what fraction is equivalent to the distance Ethan ran. So the answer will be  $\frac{3}{4}$.
