pyrite known as fools gold has the chemical formula FeS2. What is the weight fraction of iron Fe in pyrite
GREYUIT [131]

\frac{55.845}{119.975} or 46.55%

Explanation:

 Formula of pyrite = FeS₂

 Problem:

Weight fraction of Fe in FeS₂

Solution

  Atomic mass of Fe = 55.845g/mol

  Atomic mass of S = 32.065g/mol

     To find the weight fraction of Fe in FeS₂:

     Weight fraction = \frac{atomic mass of Fe}{molar mass of [tex]FeS_{2}}[/tex]

   molar mass of FeS₂ = [55.845 + 2(32.065)] = 119.975g/mol

Weight fraction of Fe = \frac{55.845}{119.975}

    As a percentage, weight fraction of Fe = 46.55%

Which of the following climate zones would be best suited for a year-round agricultural cycle?
mr_godi [17]
I would be inclined to say C, Mediterranean climate zone. Due to the fact that Desert climate would not grow grass without insane amounts of irrigation being used ( although there have been dairy farms in desert climates). Highland climates would be good, but too vulnerable to snow especially depending on location globally, although they would get a good rainfall, but the cold would limit grass growth. Most of this is also true for subartic. Whereas <span>Mediterranean is mild winters with good rainfall, and summers are often dry (good for harvesting crops) much of this climate zone has already been developed for agricultural use.</span>
