In the 1920s, CFCs were invented and widely used because they were not too expensive, and were inflammable. By the 1990s, they were banned because they depleted ozone, and the only place Nature could destroy them was the intense solar radiation in the ozone layer.

Which of the following statements is false, based on the chart above?
Alchen [17]
Ok I don't know what chart it is (that would really help) but the global population is around 7 billion not 80 million so unless the chart is from a long time ago (when the population was smaller) I'd go with B. The global population is about 80,000,000

List and describe the 5 main factors that control climate and include examples for each.
skelet666 [1.2K]

Explanation:

The five main factors that control climate are:

1. Latitude:

Areas in lower latitude i.e. generally between 23.5 degree North and 23.5 Degree South are tropical areas and experience hot and humid climate due to direct sun rays reaching the surface of earth.

Areas in middle latitude i.e. generally between 40 degree North and 66 Degree North are Temperate areas and experience moderate type of climate . For eg: London

Areas in upper latitude i.e. generally between 66 degree North and 90 Degree North are Polar areas and experience Frigid/Cold type of climate . For eg: siberia

2.Distance from sea:

Areas closer to sea experience moderate type of climate. These areas are much cooler and wetter than continental/inland areas. For eg: Andaman and Nicobar islands

3.Ocean currents:

Ocean currents can help in increasing the temperature of place if the current is warm current.for eg: North Atlantic Drift helps in breaking of ice on harbors of Baltic states because North Atlantic Drift is a warm current.

Ocean currents can help in decreasing the temperature of place if the current is cold current. For eg: Labrador Current decreases the temperature of coastal parts of North America.

4.Winds:

Areas receiving onshore winds receives much heavy rainfall than areas present on offshore region. Most of the deserts of world are present on offshore regions. For eg: Sahara desert

5.Altitude:

Temperature decreases with height.Mountain areas are much cooler than plains.for eg: Himalayas are much cooler than Gangetic plains
