How was the first telephone invented?
Burka [1]

Answer:

Thomas A. Watson, one of Bell's assistants, was trying to reactivate a telegraph transmitter. Hearing the sound, Bell believed that he could solve the problem of sending a human voice over a wire. He figured out how to transmit a simple current first, and received a patent for that invention on March 7, 1876.

What is the purpose of expository writing?
Pachacha [2.7K]
The purpose of expository writing is to inform, explain, describe, or define the author's subject to the reader.
You'd use this type of writing when you want to explain a certain term or idea to your readers, or just to give them an opportunity to learn something more about it, and for them to be informed/understand something they didn't prior to that.

What do you think will happen to Mrs. Hutchinson based on her previous reactions to the lottery?
horsena [70]
Mrs. Hutchinson really wanted to stop being trapped in a world where she couldn't change anything, where the Lottery was something as natural as day or night, and she was already tired of being a woman who always struggled to fit into that society. She didn't want to follow the rules, but she was a rebellious person inside, and perhaps for her the only way to escape was to die. Although she seems abnegated and peaceful, she actually thinks that the Lottery is unfair and even its late the Lotttery's day. Tess Hutchinson wants to end all that, even dying. It is also logical to think that she succeeded.
