Well, a percent is just a fraction with 100 as the denominator and the % sign after the numerator

3/4 multiplied by 25/25 = 75/100. The fraction is still the same value because 25/25 equals one and one times 3/4 = 3/4

75/100 can be written as a percent like this: 75%

This formula of turning the fraction into a fraction with a denominator of 100 and using the numerator to make the percentage works every time, but some denominators do not multiply evenly into 100, so those can be trickier. Hope this helps.

In a group of 28 students, 12 study both Art and Biology.
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

100%

Step-by-step explanation:

Use conditional probability:

P(B | A) = P(B and A) / P(A)

P(B | A) = (12/28) / P(A)

We need to find the probability that a student studies art.

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) − P(A and B)

24/28 = P(A) + (12+12)/28 − 12/28

P(A) = 12/28

P(B | A) = (12/28) / (12/28)

P(B | A) = 1

What this means is that all of the students who study art also study biology.

Suppose you just purchased a digital music player and have put 12 tracks on it. After listening to them you decide that you like
Vilka [71]

Answer:

a) 9% , not unusual

b) 42.4%

c) 48.4%

d) 11.1% , 44.4% , 44.4%

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the following information from the statement:

n = 12

r = 4

a)

P (likebothofthem) = P (likefirstsong) * P (likesecondsong)

P = 4/12 * 3/11

P = 0.09 = 9%

The probability is not unusual, unusual is considered less than 0.05 or 5%

b)

P (likeneither) = P (notlikefirstsong) * P (notlikesecondsong)

P = 8/12 * 7/11

P = 0.424 = 42.4%

c) P (likeexactlyoneofthem) = P (firstsongliked) * P (secondsongnotliked) + P (firstsongnotliked) * P (secondsongliked)

P = (4/12 * 8/11) + (8/12 * 4/11)

P = 0.484 = 48.4%

d)

a)

P (likebothofthem) = P (likefirstsong) * P (likesecondsong)

P = 4/12 * 4/12

P = 0.111 = 11.1%

The probability is not unusual, unusual is considered less than 0.05 or 5%

b)

P (likeneither) = P (notlikefirstsong) * P (notlikesecondsong)

P = 8/12 * 8/12

P = 0.444 = 44.4%

c) P (likeexactlyoneofthem) = P (firstsongliked) * P (secondsongnotliked) + P (firstsongnotliked) * P (secondsongliked)

P = (4/12 * 8/12) + (8/12 * 4/12)

P = 0.444 = 44.4%
