2-6x=4x-8 and x=1

You solve it by adding 8 to both sides which makes 10-6x=4x then you add 6x to both sides making 10=10x then divide by 10 on both sides and you end up with x=1

Need help solving the equation, trying to figure whether I multiply or divide.
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

m∠B = 43°

b = 26.1

c = 38.3

Step-by-step explanation:

By applying triangle sum in the given triangle,

47° + 90° + m∠B = 180°

137° + m∠B = 180°

m∠B = 43°

By applying sine ratio to the angle measuring 47°.

sin(47°) = \frac{\text{Opposite side}}{\text{Hypotenuse}}

            = \frac{28}{c}

c = \frac{28}{\text{sin}(47^{\circ})}

c = 38.28

c ≈ 38.3

By applying cosine rule,

cos(47°) = \frac{\text{Adjacent side}}{\text{Hypotenuse}}

             = \frac{b}{c}

             = \frac{b}{38.3}

b = 38.3[cos(47°)]

b = 26.1

A large airplane (plane A) flying at 26,000 feet sights a smaller plane (plane B) travelling at an altitude of 24,000 feet. The
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

The line of sight distance is 1285.58 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

The situation is illustrated in the figure attached.

From the figure we see that the altitude difference of the planes and the distance between them form a right triangle with one angle of 40° .

The line of sight between the two planes is the hypotenuse of the triangle.

The altitude difference of the planes is

26,000ft -24,000ft = 2000 ft.

Therefore, if we call x the line of sight distance, from trigonometry we have

$ sin (40^0) = \frac{2000ft}{x} $

\boxed{ x = 1285.58ft}

Therefore, the line of sight distance (x) is 1285.58 feet.

Find the slope and the y-intercept of the equation: 1/2 y + x = 5
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

The slope is -2, the intercept is (0, 10)

Step-by-step explanation:

Transform it into slope intercept form:

1/2y + x = 5

2(1/2y + x) = 5(2)

y + 2x = 10

y = -2x + 10

The slope is -2, the intercept is 10

What is the surface area of the figure shown above ?
antiseptic1488 [7]
The perimeter of the parallelogram end is 2*(8 +5) = 26 cm. The product of that and the depth gives the lateral area.
The area of the parallelogram ends is 2*8*3, so the total area is
.. surface area = (26 cm)*(7 cm) +2*(8 cm)*(3 cm) = 230 cm^2
