Is 13 colleges too many to apply to?

Answer:

<em>While there's no cap on the number of schools you can apply to some people especially those from affluent backgrounds who want to go to a selective college, can go overboard, applying to more than 20 or 30 colleges. Personally, I would strongly discourage any student from applying to more than 15 colleges. So as long as you don't go over 15 I would say you should be fine.</em>

She conveys this perspective through her language by, first, establishing the moment: she is staring at her father after he reveales something she was not aware of, but it is evident by her father's answer that it was not hidden from her, she just didn't understand. Then she uses the phrase "the moment that I realized the deceit I had been living under" and relates it to childhood.
