Under Jim Crow, Black Georgians suffered a system of discrimination that pervaded nearly every aspect of life; they were denied their constitutional right to vote, encountered discrimination in housing and employment, and were refused access to public spaces and facilities.
The materials for the Ur ziggurat were bricks of mud and a material called bitumen. If the bricks were stacked with only mud between them, they would not have lasted long.
