A ratio shows us the number of times a number contains another number. The cost of cheese that is needed to make 6000g of potato cake is £12.86.

<h3>What is a Ratio?</h3>

A ratio shows us the number of times a number contains another number.

Given that the ratio of the ingredients is,

weight of potato: weight of cheese: weight of onion = 9: 2:1

Let the ingredients be mixed in the quantity 9x, 2x, and 1x, for 6000g of potato cake. Therefore, the value of x can be written as,

9x+2x+1x = 6000\\\\12x = 6000\\\\x = 500

Hence, the value of x is 500.

Thus, the amount of cheese that will be needed is 2x,

2x = 2  \times (500) = 1000g

Given that the cost of 175g of cheese is  £2.25, therefore, the cost of 1g of cheese will be,

\text{Cost of 1g cheese} = \£\dfrac{ 2.25}{175}

Now, the cost of 1000g of cheese will be,

\text{Cost of 1000g cheese} = 1000\times  \£\dfrac{ 2.25}{175} = \£12.86

Hence, the cost of cheese that is needed to make 6000g of potato cake is £12.86.

What is the length (magnitude) of the vector (5 -2) <br> a. √29<br> b. 5√5<br> c. 5<br> d.√2
malfutka [58]

Answer:

a. √29

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the magnitude of a vector is magnitude = sqrt(x^2 + y^2).

For vector (5, -2):

magnitude = sqrt(5^2 + -2^2)

magnitude = sqrt(25 + 4)

magnitude = sqrt(29)

Therefore, the answer is √29.

Hope this helped :D

After sales tax, a $600 antique clock costs $642. What is the sales tax percentage?
LenKa [72]

well, clearly the tax is the added 42 bucks, so hmmm if we take 600 to be the 100%, how much is 42 off of it in percentage?

\begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 600 & 100\\ 42& x \end{array} \implies \cfrac{600}{42}=\cfrac{100}{x}\implies \cfrac{100}{7}=\cfrac{100}{x} \\\\\\ 100x=700\implies x=\cfrac{700}{100}\implies x=7
