Douglass is taught what the only the white kids may know on accident since Mrs. Auld is not use to having slaves. Mr. Auld has scolded her for this because it is against the law for a negro to learn. Douglass was furious upon hearing that they are purposely treated like beasts since knowledge is power. So what Douglass did is learn more and more if it meant bribing some white kids with food so be it.
He soon found out some negros were freed in some areas so he soon sought out ways to become like them using the knowledge he had gotten a hold of. While he was at the docks he communicate with others and found out about that there are activist trying to end slavery.

What is implied at the end of this chapter when White Fang follows after Collie rather than accompanying his master on his ride?
EleoNora [17]
