where

  • l = slant length

Therefore,

diameter = 2(radius)

14 = 2r

r = 14 / 2

r = 7 inches

l² = 7² + 28²

l = 28.86 inches

Therefore,

surface area = 3.14 × 7 (7 + 28.86)

surface area = 21.98 × 35.86

surface area = 788.2028

surface area = 788 inches²
