It is important that blood flow varies throughout different organs because of differences in the metabolic activities of the different organs.

The circulatory system refers to the system of organs and tissues which are involved in the circulation of blood around the body.

The circulatory system performs the essential function of delivering nutrients to tissues and cells as well as removing metabolic waste from them.

Since the different organs in the body perform specialized functions, some organs are actively involved in metabolic activities, therefore need greater blood flow.

Therefore, blood flow varies throughout different organs because of differences in their metabolic activities.
