Part 1: How's the weather? A. Investigate the weather forecast in your city. Record the high and low temperatures that are forec

ast for the next 7 days in the table below. In the columns titled, Difference," record the change in temperature from the day before. To do this, subtract the previous temperature from the current temperature Be sure to use positive and negative numbers as needed! For example, if yesterday’s temperature was 70 and today’s temperature was 65, the difference is 65 – 70 = -5. Date High Temperature Subtract previous temperature from current temperature Difference Low Temperature Subtract previous temperature from current temperature Difference 1 09/15/2021 89 -N/A- -N/A- 75 -N/A- -N/A- 2 09/16/2021 91 91-89 2 77 77-75 2 3 09/17/2021 92 92-91 1 75 75-77 -2 4 09/18/2021 91 91-92 -1 77 77-75 2 5 09/19/2021 90 90-91 -1 78 78-77 1 6 09/20/2021 89 89-90 -1 78 78-78 0 7 09/21/2021 87 87-89 -2 78 78-78 0 B. Note: The columns for Day One's subtraction and difference cannot be filled in. As this is the first data point, there is no previous temperature to subtract. C. Write a mathematical expression using the information from your table to answer the following questions: 1. What is the mean change in the forecasted high temperatures? Remember, this can be found by averaging the values in the Difference column for the high temperatures. Show your work and steps. If your answer is not an integer, explain what two integers your answer is between.
2. What is the mean change in the forecasted low temperatures? Remember, this can be found by averaging the values in the Difference column for the low temperatures. If your answer is not an integer, explain what two integers your answer is between. ____________________

Using the mean concept, it is found that:

1. The mean change in the forecasted high temperatures is of -0.33ºC.

2. The mean change in the forecasted low temperatures is of 0.5ºC.

-----------------------------

The mean of data-set is given by the sum of all observations divided by the number of observations.

Item 1:

The changes in the high temperature are: 2, 1, -1, -1, -1, -2

Thus:

M = \frac{2 + 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 2}{6} = -0.33

The mean change in the forecasted high temperatures is of -0.33ºC.

Item 2:

The changes in the low temperature are: 2, -2, 2, 1, 0, 0.

M = \frac{2 - 2 + 2 + 1 + 0 + 0}{6} = 0.5

The mean change in the forecasted low temperatures is of 0.5ºC.

If -xy – 5+ y^2+ x^2= 0 and it is known that dy/dx= y-2x/-x+2y, find all
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer:

There is no point of the form (-1, y) on the curve where the tangent is horizontal

Step-by-step explanation:

Notice that when x = - 1. then dy/dx becomes:

dy/dx= (y+2) / (2y+1)

therefore, to request that the tangent is horizontal we ask for the y values that make dy/dx equal to ZERO:

0 = ( y + 2) / (2 y + 1)

And we obtain y = -2 as the answer.

But if we try the point (-1, -2) in the original equation, we find that it DOESN'T belong to the curve because it doesn't satisfy the equation as shown below:

(-1)^2 + (-2)^2 - (-1)*(-2) - 5 = 1 + 4 + 2 - 5 = 2 (instead of zero)

Then, we conclude that there is no horizontal tangent to the curve for x = -1.

Which of the following lists is in the correct order from smallest to largest? -13, -19, -21, -24 11, -12, 15, -19 -7, -3, 6, 2
seraphim [82]

Answer:

-24, -21, -19, -19, -19, -14, -13, -12, -7, -3, 2, 5, 6, 11, 11, 15

Step-by-step explanation:

Hey there!

To put the numbers in least to greatest form, you need to put the biggest numbers with a - sign in front of it

This means negative

Negative means below zero

Then after putting the big negative numbers, you put positive numbers going from smallest to largest

So the numbers in least to greatest is -24, -21, -19, -19, -19, -14, -13, -12, -7, -3, 2, 5, 6, 11, 11, 15
