Find the area of each kite. write your answer as an integer or a simplified radical

Mathematics

Degger [83]2 years ago

The area of the kite is the amount of space it occupies

The area of the assumed kite is 25 square units

How to determine the area of the kite?

The question is incomplete, as the dimensions of the kites are not given.

So, I will provide a general explanation

The area of a kite is:

Area = 0.5pq

Where p and q are the lengths of the diagonals of the kite.

Assume that p = 5 and q = 10, for a kite.

The equation becomes

Area = 0.5 * 5 * 10

Evaluate

Area = 25

Hence, the area of the assumed kite is 25 square units

In which context will the inequality 4x + 5y > 80 have only integers in its solution set?
Rama09 [41]
I think the answer is D because all the other options have a decimal point e.g. $4.46, (I don't use pounds but I'm assuming it's something like 4 pound 46), 4 hours, 46 minutes. You simply cannot have 0.46 of a dog (unless you're very cruel.)

N.B. I only used 4.46 as an example, it's not the correct number.

On the ceiling of a cavern, a stalactite grows downward
Tcecarenko [31]
The stalactites become 0.004 + 0.006 = 0.01 inches closer each year, and begin 10 feet apart, or 120 inches apart.

let y be the distance between them, and x be the number of years that go by:
y = -0.01x + 120

We want to find where y = 0, where they meet:
0 = -0.01x + 120        Add 0.01x to both sides
0.01x = 120               Multiply both sides by 100
x = 12,000

The stalagmite and stalactite will meet in 12,000 years

Which shows one way to determine the factors of x3 – 9x2 + 5x – 45 by grouping?
Valentin [98]
Factoring by grouping usually pairs up the first 2 sets of expressions with the second 2 sets. Ours looks like this, then: (x^3-9x^2)+(5x-45)=0. If we factor out the common x-squared in the first set of parenthesis, along with factoring out the common 5 in the second set, we get this: x^2(x-9)+5(x-9). Now the common expression that can be factored out is the (x-9). When we do that, here's what it looks like: (x-9)(x^2+5). I'm not sure how far you are going with this. You could set each of those equal to 0 and solve for x in each case. The first one is easy. If x - 9 = 0, then x = 9. The second one involves the imaginary i since x^2 = -5. In that case, x=i \sqrt{5},-i \sqrt{5}. Hopefully, in what I have given you, you can find what you're looking for.
