English

Events like epidemics and wars are ruled out of population projections because:

 • C. because these events are unpredictable and demographers cannot estimate their impact

Population projection are those forecasts or predictions about the way population growth would change in the future.

This is important as scientists use this data to predict how much resources would be available for each person during a particular period in future.

Events like epidemics and wars are ruled out of population projections because they are unpredictable as these events cannot be foreseen so far into the future.

Therefore, the correct answer is option C.

A. Twenty miles West of Phoenix
and
B. 3:15 p.m. on June 12, 2014

Look for facts that are exact. Something that gives you all of the details possible. For instance, "rumors spread" doesn't give us real facts to go off of. Yes, rumors were spread but what exactly was being said? And by who? Also, a spherical metal object, which I believe is more of a description(adjectives). It's just describing what the spacecraft looked like. The word "object" could be anything also. Even though it said the "object is likely a spacecraft" telling us what exactly the object was believed to be, the word "Likely" does not mean it is for certain. Likely basically means probably or possibly. So again, that answer given has holes in it. It's leaving unanswered questions and doesn't give us a fact that we can know for sure is true and can rely on. But 3:15 p.m. on June 12, 2014 is exact. We know that the spacecraft landed on that exact time and on that date(month, day, and year) no questions asked. That would not be the case if it said sometime, someday, some month in 2014. Also, saying 20 miles West of Phoenix, they didn't say just Arizona, they gave us the city. Also, telling us it is exactly 20 miles in the location West. So traveling from Phoenix, driving 20 miles West of there you should be able to find the approximate or exact area of the crash site.
