Answer:

39 - 35 = $4

Step-by-step explanation:

mean: 19+42+35+40+39 = 175

            175/5 = 35

add up all the cost then divide by how many numbers there are.

Median:

list the numbers from lowest to largest

19, 35, 39, 40, 42

then find the number in middle

39

last: 39-35=$4

Find the volume of revolution bounded by the curves y = 4 – x2 , y = x, and x = 0, and is revolved about the vertical axis.
aleksley [76]
4-x^2=x\\
x^2+x-4=0\\
\Delta=1^2-4\cdot1\cdot(-4)=1+16=17\\
x_1=\dfrac{-1-\sqrt{17}}{2}\\
x_2=\dfrac{-1+\sqrt{17}}{2}\\\\
\displaystyle
V=\pi\int\limits_0^{\dfrac{-1+\sqrt{17}}{2}}(4-x^2-x)^2\,dx\\
V=\pi\int\limits_0^{\dfrac{-1+\sqrt{17}}{2}}(16-4x^2-4x-4x^2+x^4+x^3-4x+x^3+x^2)\,dx\\
V=\pi\int\limits_0^{\dfrac{-1+\sqrt{17}}{2}}(x^4+2x^3-7x^2-8x+16)\,dx\\
V=\pi \left[\dfrac{x^5}{5}+\dfrac{x^4}{2}-\dfrac{7x^3}{3}-4x^2+16x\right]_0^{\dfrac{-1+\sqrt{17}}{2}}\\

The rest of solution in the attachment.

There's a mistake in the picture
It shoud be
V=\pi\left(\dfrac{289\sqrt{17}-521}{60}\right)\approx35

Suppose that 5 J of work is needed to stretch a spring from its natural length of 30 cm to a length of 39 cm.
vesna_86 [32]

Answer

given,

work = 5 J

spring stretch form 30 cm to 39 cm

W = \dfrac{1}{2}kx^2

x = 0.39 - 0.30 = 0.09 m

5 = \dfrac{1}{2}k\times 0.09^2

k = \dfrac{5\times 2}{0.09^2}

k = 1234.568 N/m

a) work when spring is stretched from  32 cm to 34 cm

x₂= 0.34 -0.30 = 0.04 m

x₁ = 0.32 - 0.30 = 0.02

W = \dfrac{1}{2}k(x_2^2-x_1^2)^2

W = \dfrac{1}{2}\times 1234.568 \times (0.04^2-0.02^2)^2

W = 0.741 J

b) F = k x

  25 = 1234.568 × x

     x = 0.0205 m

     x = 2.05 cm
