Do-Now: After two months has passed since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, can we see it ending any time soon? Explain.

Answer:

It depends.

Explanation:

It depends; Ukraine is our (The United State's) ally, but the Government has done close to nothing to help them through this war. However, we as citizens can do our best to donate food, weapons, clothing, baby supplies and more to help the small country of Ukraine fight against Russia.

Another thing to think about is the Russian soldiers themselves. Putin (President of Russia) has tricked the soldiers into thinking that Ukraine wanted them to take over because their leaders were treating them terribly. Of course this is untrue, but the Soldiers believed it, and have actually come up to Ukraine citizens asking for food and other supplies, because they think that they are both on the same side.

So at the end of the day, there are a lot of factors to analyze (some of which I didn't mention, because I wanted to keep this a reasonably sized answer rather than basically an essay, but also because I think you should do some reseaarch of your own.), and your answer really just depends on a lot of people, and what they will do next to help or to hurt Ukraine/Russia. I would say to do what you can to help Ukraine for two main reasons:

 1. People of all ages are dying, suffering, being seperated from their familes, and those people are of all ages; ranging form infants to the elderly.
 2. Ukraine is the Breadbasket of Europe, and makes 11.5% of the worlds wheat. If Russia takes Ukraine over and does not immediatley start reviving Ukraine's percentage of wheat production, we could lose that 11.5 percentage, and the price for anything that uses wheat will skyrocket.

The word “Hellenistic” comes from the word Hellazein, which means “to speak Greek or identify with the Greeks. Which describes Southerners' reaction to President Lincoln's issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation?
IgorC [24]
Not sure but hope what I know help a little...Slavery was “an unqualified evil to the negro, the white man, and the State,” said Abraham Lincoln in the 1850s. Yet in his first inaugural address, Lincoln declared that he had “no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with slavery in the States where it exists.” He reiterated this pledge in his first message to Congress on July 4, 1861, when the Civil War was three months old.Did You Know? When it took effect in January 1863, the Emancipation Proclamation freed 3.1 million of the nation's 4 million slaves.

What explains this apparent inconsistency in Lincoln’s statements? And how did he get from his pledge not to interfere with slavery to a decision a year later to issue an emancipation proclamation? The answers lie in the Constitution and in the course of the Civil War. As an individual, Lincoln hated slavery. As a Republican, he wished to exclude it from the territories as the first step to putting the institution “in the course of ultimate extinction.”
