What do you think is the message of this poster?

History
1 answer:
matrenka [14]2 years ago

This seems to be a poster from the British Empire asking for support from the "young lions," which would be Australia, Canada, India, and New Zealand, to support the "old lion," which would be Great Britain. In this case, the support would most likely be to either defend the British Empire or to expand it, in any capacity, it means supporting the Empire.

Was jesus a rebel? can you explain why? or why not? if you can also put why people may think he is a rebel. (a few lines for the
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer:

The concept of rebellion implies insubordination to a greater power of authority. Since there is no greater authority than God, and Jesus was perfectly obedient to the will of his father, he cannot be a rebel.

To the extent he was against the world it was because it was against the will of his father, with whom he created the world.

Instead he devoted his life to saving the people of the world who are willing to hear him and repent of their rebellion from God, which is sin.

Matthew 26:39

He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.

Matthew 6:9-10

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

How did controlling religion contribute to their power
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer:

A power/interaction model of interpersonal influence is applied to the analysis of religions as mechanisms of social control. The original six bases of power presented by French and Raven (1959)—coercion, reward, legitimate position, expert, referent, and informational—are expanded to include variants of these bases: personal reward and coercion and legitimacy of equity, reciprocity, and responsibility (Raven, 1992). Over centuries, certain sages, seers, and feeling that they knew what was best for their people individually and collectively, have attempted to utilize these power resources (e.g., to counter tendencies toward murder, theft, adultery, mayhem, or harmful dietary practices). To implement power strategies, various preparatory devices were developed, which include the establishment of a Deity, whose ultimate reward and coercive power is enhanced by omnipotence; whose omnipresence establishes necessary continual surveillance; and whose ultimate expertise follows from omniscience. Much of what has been developed in holy works, and in supportive art and literature, can then be seen as further preparing the bases of power for social control. Tensions result when a populace that is educated to expect informational power is faced with a religion that emphasizes extreme coercion, reward, ultimate legitimate and expert power.

Famous slave in South America who successfully broke from slavery was ______.
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

Harriet Jacobs

Explanation:

Harriet Jacobs was an African-American writer who escaped slavery and was subsequently released. It was devastating and reformatory. Harriet Jacobs, who was born a slave in North Carolina, taught the lady to read and write. When his wife died, Jacobs was sold to a white master, forcing her to have sex. Jacobs resisted him, found another white lover, and had two children from him. Her children went to her grandmother. “It seems less humiliating to cope with one's own desire rather than forced possession,” he wrote honestly. He escaped from his owner and made a gossip on his way to the North.  She was very afraid of getting caught and being sent back to slavery and punished, hiding in her master's city, in the dark roof of her grandmother for almost seven years. He lived with the images of his beloved children, which he watched from the madmen he opened on the ceiling. Finally he fled north and settled in Rochester in New York. Here, Frederick Douglass was publishing an anti-slavery newspaper called North Star, and a women's rights congress was held nearby (Seneca Falls). Jacobs became friends with the anti-slavery Amy Post, Quaker, who encouraged him to write his autobiography. Lydia Child was the editor of the Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, published in 1861 under the pseudonym “Linda Brent”. Quite frankly, the black slave condemned the sexual exploitation of women. Like Douglass's book, Jacobs's book is the part of the style of slave stories that goes back to Equal to Olauda at the time of colonies.
