In the following passage from A Level Playing Field: African American Athletes and the Republic of Sports, Gerald L. Early discu
Kaylis [27]

Answer:

Credibility and an American approach to sports analysis.

Explanation:

The biggest difference in sports analysis between Europe and America is, in many's view, the Americans' obsession with statistics. One cannot watch a sports game without the commentators using at least a dozen statistics to prove the greatness/importance of a team, player or game.

Gerald Early is no different. The task of writing about Jackie Robinson is not easy for anyone, with Robinson being such an important figure in American sports. Early was probably not the first and surely will not be the last to do that.

In order to add credibility to his writing, distinguish his work from those of other people and last, but not least, to appeal to the American reader, Early tries to use as many sources as possible to support his arguments. He does that masterfully because, instead of the sources diminishing Early's voice in the writing, they do the opposite. Gerald Early uses the sources to enhance his own voice by always making the sources' relevance dependent on his own claims.

HELP FAST PLZ 20 POINTS AND BRAINLY
oksano4ka [1.4K]
1. D: the Bishop is kind and caring and even though ValJean is an ex-convict he is still treated like a human being by the Bishop. Calling him 'brother' further shows how he views all people as equals.

2. D: you would expect ValJean to be grateful for the kindness the Bishop shows him and to accept the food and lodging without causing trouble. ValJean is a former criminal but the Bishop trusted him to not steal what he had. ValJean showed the opposite of these expectations by stealing from the Bishop.

3. C: the Bishop welcomes ValJean into his home and treats him like a real human being. The irony is that as soon as someone treats him like a normal person ValJean starts "stuttering like a madman", acting the way everyone before had assumed he would be (crazy).

I want an explanation (nothing - something - everything - something)
Scrat [10]

Indefinite pronouns are used to refer to nonspecific people, things or places. In this way, the speaker uses -body or -one to refer to people, and    -thing to indicate objects. As a general rule, these pronouns are consider to be in the singular form so the verb has to agree with it.

It is important to highlight that “Nothing” is used in negative sentences (example: Nobody worked yesterday.)

"Something" is used for unknown or nonspecific object and it is appears in affirmative sentences.(Example: I saw something in the kitchen).

“Everything” is used to refer to a total amount of nonspecific objects and it appears in affirmative sentences.(Example: I bought everything yesterday).
